Therefore, this study was carried out to determine the teachers' knowledge of alternative assessment and evaluation techniques and the teachers' needs of application and training. The research, in which Descriptive-relational scanning model was used, carried out on a sample of 483 primary and branch teachers working in Izmir, Hakkari and Gaziantep. As the result of the research, it is observed that the most familiar and applied techniques for the teachers are question-and-answer, performance task and project assignments and the least familiar and applied techniques are the diagnostic tree and structured grid techniques. According to the findings of the research, two-thirds of the teachers (70%) indicated that they need training on knowing and applying alternative assessment and evaluation techniques.
