The priorities can be determined by starting out from the premise that’The most frequently seen, the mostfatal,the most crippling disease’. This study has been planned with the aim of assisting to determine the priorities of
basic health services, studying these patients who have been hospitalized in mu????la province,second level health
institutions – ınternal diseases services.The study was conducted retrosipective with the aim of studying the hospitalizations of those patients
admitted to state hospital and Social Insurance Hospital (SSK) ınternal diseases sevices in Mu????la province betweeen
1999-2000 years.In the study,the patients were observed from the standpoint of their gender,age group,internal
diseases detected in the patients,periods of staying inthe service and modes of discharge from the hospital.Registrations
of 3796 patients hospitilazed were scrutinized in the study. [6]
It has been determined that 50,63% of the patients were male,49,37 % female and that 42,41 % of the
patients were in the 60-79 age –range,29,27 % in 40-59 age – range and that 91,54 %stayed in the hospital
varying from 1 to 10 days and average length of hospitalization has been determined to be 5,80 days.When the
distribution of the diseases were analyzed,24,53 % constituted Heart an coronory diseases,23,84 % respiratory
system diseases and 20,73 % gastrointestinal system.After the treatment,ıt has been determined that 65,04 % of the
patients were discharged because they improved and on their own ill and 25,66 % were discharged in their
‘current state.’
