Abstract

The aim of this study is to establish the contextual standards of the social studies lesson in the third year primary school by analyzing the views of teachers.

Thus, with the help of literature mien: the questionnaire for the contextual standards of social studies lesson a as developed depending on the views of teachers and standards were grouped according to the importance of factors. Whit this questionnaire some features of the contextual standards of the social studies lesson were anal, %ed. For example their appropriateness to the level of value cultural and the existence in context {textbooks sere examined.

In the study a survey method was used. Subjects were 533 teachers in 36 primary schools selected out of 70 with a random sampling technique in Erzurum city. The data from 374 received questionnaires were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, and square techniques with SPSS at the ?:0,05 significance level

As result of the statistical analyses, the developed standards were supported by teachers according to their appropriateness to the level of values cultural 98.9%, but to their existence in context fin the textbook) 14.6%. 85.4% of the teachers decided that standards do not exist in the context.
